Large Mindanao, Philippines, Betel Box, Circa 1900. Inlaid with silver and fine decorations. Wheels with US coins dating 1913, 1919 and 1921 during US occupation of the Philippines following the Spanish-American War. In excellent condition throughout. Size 230x110x120 mm

A Meiji period hand mirror of silver on bronze with designs of animals and plants representing long life – the crane, the turtle, the pine tree and ginko leaf. It is inscribed with Tenka Ichi Izuminokami meaning “The best in Japan”. Izuminokami was a Samurai name for better promoting the object.

An unusual Meiji Period Lunchbox made in shapes of accessories used by Sumo wrestling referees such as war-fan or gunbai. Three lacquered rice bowls covered with fine decorative weaving. Four shells bordered with copper for use as plates. Small brass handle attached to carved bamboo for carrying to the Sumo match. Made of Inoki wood and lacquered. Stamped document of the shop on washi paper. Sake bottle not included. Small repair to one fan on side.

Beautiful pair silver-plated Jewish Polish candlesticks marked by M. Jarra circa 1870. Highly embossed and fabricated with shaped stem rising from squarred-footed base. Slight vertical deformation but was left in current state for historical reasons. Purchased in Tel Aviv in 1981.
