A Meiji period hand mirror of silver on bronze with designs of animals and plants representing long life – the crane, the turtle, the pine tree and ginko leaf. It is inscribed with Tenka Ichi Izuminokami meaning “The best in Japan”. Izuminokami was a Samurai name for better promoting the object.

An unusual Meiji Period Lunchbox made in shapes of accessories used by Sumo wrestling referees such as war-fan or gunbai. Three lacquered rice bowls covered with fine decorative weaving. Four shells bordered with copper for use as plates. Small brass handle attached to carved bamboo for carrying to the Sumo match. Made of Inoki wood and lacquered.
